Frequently Ask Questions
The minimum age for starting the Stepladder of Achievement programme is 15 years.
REMEMBER: Stepladder of Achievement DOES NOT pay financial rewards for each step. This is only available with Stepladder PLUS!
To find out if your Council is running Stepladder PLUS, speak to your social worker.
You need to have completed all the steps before your 25th birthday.
Unfortunately, it is too late to join Stepladder after the age of 25
The Stepladder steps are designed so that you may retake each step, with the exception of Step 6. If you find that you cannot complete them please call us to discuss.
Please send us an email explaining which step it is, how many times you have retaken it and why you don’t agree with the result. This will be reviewed by the Stepladder Programme Co-ordinator and you can expect a response in 21 days. The Stepladder Programme Co-ordinator will refer more complex matters to the Director of Operations. You may appeal against decisions taken by members of staff by asking the Director of Operations to refer the matter to The Share Foundation’s Chairman of Trustees who will make the final decision.
You can call us Monday - Friday during daily working hours 9 - 5pm, and you will potentially have a range of people around you who may be able to help for example a teacher, foster carer, support worker, a mentor assigned to you by The Share Foundation – or any significant adult in your life who has your best interests at heart.
The Share Foundation has worked closely with the Department of Education on the development of this programme. The Share Foundation, itself, is regulated under both charity and company law.
Go to the Stepladder of Achievement registration page and complete the online form. You will receive a confirmation email while we process your application.
